Each pair begins with real hay-scented ferns, arranged by hand and exposed to the sun using the historic cyanotype process. The plant blocks the light, leaving a pale lace silhouette against deep blue. Afterward, they're sealed and ready for everyday wear.
Every fern is different, so no two pairs are identical.
The circle shape gives the botanical details room to spread across the wood. These earrings have the impact of a statement earring and remain very lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Gather and press
I gather plants and carefully dry them to preserve their forms.
Arrange and expose
After I compose each piece, I expose it to sunlight to start the cyanotype process.
Rinse and reveal
I wash off the cyanotype mixture to reveal the impression the plant left behind.
Seal and finish
Each piece is sealed to protect it, and ear wires are added.
