Description

Meadow II Original Cyanotype

A meadow of late summer botanicals, including hay-scented fern, sensitive fern, wild pea, chicory, and Queen Anne’s lace. Shades of lavender and lilac layer with flashes of sky blue, highlighting the varied shapes and textures of these familiar plants.

I created this original cyanotype by arranging real pressed botanicals on paper and exposing them to sunlight. The botanical impressions and variations in color are unique to this piece.

From plant to print

Gather and press

Plants are selected and then dried to preserve their forms.

Arrange and expose

Each piece is carefully composed and then exposed to sunlight to start the cyanotype process.

Rinse and reveal

The cyanotype mixture is washed off and  the impression the plant left behind is revealed.

Finish

Each original is signed and dated on the front and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
